- I am an alien. You may think that I’m being silly. You may say you don’t believe in aliens. But the Merriam-Webster Dictionary’s definition of the word alien includes: “Differing in nature or character typically to the point of incompatibility.” Other definitions include “Dissimilar, inconsistent, or opposed, as in nature,” and “A person who is not included in a group; an outsider.” Those all pretty much describe me! I’ve been diagnosed with a plethora of disorders, including Asperger’s and ADHD, each of which explain some but not all aspects of my difficulties in life. Maybe I really am from a different planet, where all of the inhabitants are like me. But until that planet is discovered, I have to learn to survive here on Earth.
