A Letter from Maria Jose!

Good news, everyone! I got a letter from our sponsored child, Maria Jose!
Well, it wasn't a letter, actually. She's only two years old so she can't write yet. What the agency does is have the mother write a short letter, and then fill out a little questionnaire thing about the child.
The letter from Maria's mother says, "Let me tell you that the child is very happy. She likes to play with dolls. She shares with her siblings. She likes to sing. Her mother, Nubia Lugo, says goodbye."
On the back, where the mother was supposed to check multiple choice boxes about the child, she checked every single box. So according to this letter, Maria's favorite foods are rice with chicken, fish or meat; soup, fast food, salad, and fritters. Her favorite fruits are apples, oranges, watermelons, pineapples, and bananas. She likes to play with her friends, play with toys, sing, dance, and draw. In her neighborhood there are parks, churches, grocery stores, police stations, and schools.
There was also a space for Maria to color a picture of a dog, but it looks like her mother just colored it in with a pencil!
I am going to save all the letters and pictures from Maria, so as she gets older, we can watch how she changes and develops!

I don't think I've said it lately. Nicki, what you're doing is a beautiful thing.
