World Hello Day!

Hello Hello Hello Hello Hello Hello Hello Hello Hello Hello!
Today is World Hello Day, a day created so that everyone can express their wish for peace on earth. How do we do this? By making it a point to say "hello" to people! By giving each other friendly greetings, we set an example for leaders around the world, showing them how to use communication to solve problems, instead of using violence.
Today, along with the children in your life, make it your goal to say "hello" (or any other friendly greeting for that matter) to ten people whom you would not ordinarily greet. Obviously, you probably say "hello" to your boss, and your friends, and people like that... but do you say "hello" to the cashier at the store? The conductor who takes your ticket on the commuter train? How about the homeless man begging for spare change on the sidewalk?
Okay. So George W. probably isn't going to be watching you and learning from your example. But leaders around the world know that World Hello Day" is taking place, so they're definitely getting the message!
Besides, participating in this day sets a good example not only for the world leaders, but for all of our kids! Showing them that a smile and a friendly greeting is a very simple way to brighten a few people's lives each day!
Who are you going to say "Hello" to today?

HOLA from Spain!! Splendid iniciative! I'm an ESL teacher and was trying to find different activities to teach the different cultural strategies for greetings and I found your blog, that's how I learned about World Hello Day, and I simply loved the idea behind. I'll surely do soemthing special next 21st Nov. Thanks for opening that door for my kids!
